CREATING YOUR UNIVERSE

When you watch the Miss Universe Pageant, Miss USA Pageant, or even the Mrs. America Pageant, do you look at the winners as lucky or special? So many of us learned as children that prestige and achievement is often more associated with luck rather than with skill and focused determination. But we also learn so many contradicting “truth’s” that it becomes confusing and your soul will often connect to either love or fear… which ever is the most dominant emotion. I learned as a child that certain goals were out of my limit because they were meant only for the lucky few, but in the same breath would hear that if I focused and disciplined myself in school that I could achieve anything. It was no wonder that my confusion eventually led me to tune out the noise of the world and tune into my God whispers for my truth.
Pageant goals are much like life goals because they are experiences that you want to achieve in order to know the emotions of love, empowerment, and connection to something within you. After all, this is where your power rests. In knowing that although you cannot control the world outside of you, how you react to life and the opportunities you create for yourself are all within you. Throughout my 15 years of coaching, I have helped women turn their pain into power and realize that each of you have a story to tell. This story is being written by you, the creator of your universe and how you share it will inspire those who have yet to see the light within themselves.
Whether you are trying to reach new levels in pageantry or soar into the better version of yourself through your career, pageantry helps you maintain the connection between you and your greatest goals. Think about it… you have to rely on yourself when you are putting on that pageant swimsuit and walking across a stage in front of complete strangers to be judged. You have to be your own champion when communicating your message under hot stage lights under a specific time limit, when you are trying desperately to concentrate on the question and give a strong answer.
Most importantly, there is nobody but you who has to count your pace and force yourself to slow down when you are strutting across the pageant stage in a confident stride, when all of your natural instincts tell you to do is run for your life off that stage! You have to rely on self when practicing your communication skills, articulate your message, reach deeper into your soul for all of the courage you can muster when you are reading negative comments from strangers about your appearance on the social media. How many people are equipped to have this type of mind, body, and soul strength?
There is power in pageantry that most people don’t understand who have never actually stepped foot on a stage. You are one of the few who has the courage to become bold enough to achieve your dreams. All of these emotions you experience when you push yourself out of your own comfort zone, are the emotions we all strive to have in any goal-setting experience. When you can understand what your specific goals are when entering a competition, whether a pageant or winning a dream home with millions of entries, there is always one person who created the experience. Why not allow yourself to be the one in a million?
Remember this when you face any goal that may appear insurmountable. You can create your universe without the approval or the permission from the world around you. All you need is the intention and the focused energy to bring your emotions to the place where you are your own champion.
